Small Bathroom Ideas
Because bathrooms need to accommodate lots of bits and pieces, these small bathroom ideas can help you to maximize space and functionality.
Use as much vertical space as you can - this means shelving on walls or purchasing a tall, thin shelving unit or trolley.
- Use the back of the door for hooks. Keep towels off the floor with clever hooks and portable racks for comfortable towel storage when there aren’t enough bathroom fittings. In small bathrooms, an over door hook can hold towels and more and needs no installation (see pic at right - from www.hsw.com.au)
- Open shelving will make the bathroom appear larger because you can see all the way to the wall.(need pic)
- Install clear, frameless glass shower screens to give the illusion of space by allowing you to see more of the room.(need pic)
Minimize countertop clutter by organising and using drawers and cabinets. Use drawer sorters or trays.
- If the whole family shares a bathroom, use a a tall trolley with 4-8 drawers to give more bathroom cupboard space while using minimal room. Give a drawer to each person or use them to store bath toys and general bathroom items.
Towels off the floor: step one
- Larger versions for bigger bathrooms mean everyone has a dry towel when they need it. Or use your wasted air-space by adding a bathroom Wall Shelf and Towel Rack in one.
- Add storage over the toilet to use otherwise wasted wall space (see pic on right - from www.hsw.com.au).
