Decorating Small Bedrooms
Decorating small bedrooms can be a real pain even when you don't have a lot of stuff. There are ways to regain a sense of peace and create the sort of sanctuary a bedroom should be.
Hooks and hangups
When you are low on floor space, you have to make the most of what you do have - vertical space. Use over-door storage to hang all sorts of things. Hooks are great for jackets and robes, keeping them in easy reach. You can also use them to hang bags. Multi-pocket over-door storage can allow you to store shoes and jewelry. If you look around you can find these items in a variety of designs and materials to suit your preferences - chrome, timber and clear plastic hook sets are typical options.
Once you have the hooks and hangers, it's up to you to get into the habit of using them rather than dropping bags and coats on the bed or floor to be put away later. Changing this habit alone will make a big difference to clutter.
Wardrobe
Do you rifle through cupboards, shelves or messy drawers for belts, ties, bags, or shoes?
There are many ways to organize your wardrobe hanging space to group and sort items. The picture above is of a sweater organizer. Shoe organizers are also available - to give you the shelf space you may not otherwise have.
A clear handbag holder that drops down among your clothes can help you choose a bag to match your outfit easily. Keep belts untangled on a belt rack that holds up to 14 belts.
Under the bed
Space saver bags can allow you to store lesser used items or last season's clothes out of the way in a flat pack. Another option is to use baskets or boxes under the bed.
Dressers and displays
Floating shelves that melt into the wall in timeless style are perfect for displaying mementoes, photographs and objects of art that add a warm welcome to any bedroom.
The jewelry storage pictured to the right is one way to achieve vertical storage of your jewelry.
